It seems not enough just yet for Chelsea and its manager Frank Lampard to bring Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to Stamford Bridge. More players remain under the radar of Lampard that includes Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell. Unfortunately, with the competition break for the last three months, the financial matter is not as it used to be. Bringing Ziyech and Werner to Stamford Bridge has cost Chelsea at least GBP 83.5 million for the base transfer fee only. So, players are to be sold to boost the transfer budget with the hope to sign both Chilwell and Havertz.
Reportedly Chelsea is ready to sell 12 of its players in the next summer transfer. Lampard’s way to run Chelsea so far indicates a positive trend that the owner of the club decided to fund Lampard’s hunt for new players. Amidst the big names in the squad list of Chelsea to be prepared for a cash-in are N’Golo Kante, Olivier Giroud, and Jorginho. Kante is the most likely to be sold in the first place over the other two though. More players that may well be leaving Chelsea are Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri. That remains on a clause to the signing of Ben Chilwell though. If that is to happen, Lampard will rely on Cesar Azpilicueta, Reece James, and Ben Chilwell for the left-back.
More names that will probably leave Chelsea in the next transfer include Michy Batshuayi, Tiemou Bakayoko, Ross Barkley, Andreas Christiensen, and Kurt Zouma. They are all available for transfer in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, both Pedro and Willian will leave the club as well for free to become a free agent at the end of this season. Jorginho and Olivier Giroud are most likely to be the hardest to be sold by Chelsea without reasonable offers from other clubs.
Being one of the players targeted by Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz fueled the speculation even further. Recently he liked a tweet posted by a Chelsea fan to reply to a tweet by Chelsea’s official account. The tweet from the fan simply orders the club to announce Kai Havertz as if the transfer has been signed and secured. That could only indicate that even Kai Havertz is eager to move to Chelsea in the next transfer window of summer. Eventually, it depends on the talk of both clubs whether to seal the deal or not in the future.
It is reported that Bayer Leverkusen demands as much as GBP 100 million for the transfer fee of Kai Havertz to move to Stamford Bridge. That leads to the very reasonable move of Lampard to sell as much as 12 players from the club. The record-breaking transfer fee of Hazard may not be enough anymore to fund that GBP 100 million transfer fee. Even with the additions of funds from the transfer of Alvaro Morata and Mario Pasalic, there will still be more money needed to bring both Havertz and Chilwell to the club. It is interesting to see what will happen because the owner of Chelsea is known to spend a lot of money on new players. judibolaterbaik
